William Murphy, DVM

Dr. Murphy grew up in Webster, NY. After high school, he attended the University of Tennessee/Knoxville where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Animal Science in 1982. He was awarded the Outstanding Junior and Senior of the College of Agriculture. He attended the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine, and was awarded his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1986. Dr. Murphy is a member of the New York State Medical Association, The American Veterinary Medical Association, Genessee Valley Veterinary Association, and the American Animal Hospital Association. He is a Fear Free certified doctor who is committed to fear free, anxiety free animal care. He is dedicated to staying current in medical and surgical techniques. Dr. Murphy has been practicing veterinary medicine for over 30 years throughout the Rochester area. He is a professional, knowledgeable and experienced veterinarian. Dr. Murphy is passionate about veterinary medicine and enjoys meeting clients and their pets. He provides caring, gentle, comprehensive and quality care for his patients. He is dedicated to educating clients and involving them in a lifetime of health care for their pets.
Amie Rennie, D.V.M., C.V.A.
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Amie Rennie is originally from Bennington, Vermont. She moved with her family to western New York and attended Fairport High School. She returned to Vermont for college where she was a multisport and Divison 1 athlete. She completed a study abroad program in marine science in the Turks and Caicos Islands, and after graduation worked at a marine research lab in the Bahamas. While Dr. Rennie is fascinated with sharks and other marine life, her true passion and calling has always been in veterinary medicine. Dr. Rennie received her veterinary degree from Michigan State University in 2010. She became interested in Eastern/alternative medicine during vet school. She became certified in acupuncture at the prestigious Chi Institute in 2015. She has since taken courses in advanced acupuncture and food therapy, and has an interest in herbal medication. She is excited to be able to offer acupuncture and laser therapy to patients at Westside Animal Hospital. Outside of work, she loves trail running, cross country skiing, cycling, kayaking, hiking, spending time at the beach and playing the piano.

Liz , LVT
Team Leader
Liz joined our team in 2019. She was awarded her AAS in Veterinary Technology and her BS in Veterinary Hospital Management from SUNY Delhi. Since completing her degree, she has worked for 16 years as a veterinary technician, including roles as supervisor and client service manager for a local emergency hospital. She has been a welcome addition to our Fear Free certified team. When she is not at Westside Animal Hospital, she enjoys hiking, kayaking and spending time with her 2 dogs.
Brittany , LVT
Veterinary Technician
Brittany has been a part of the Westside Animal Hospital team since 2016. As a veterinary technician, she is responsible for prepping surgery, lab work, performing dental cleanings, treating, patient needs, client education and client communication. Brittany is a Fear FreeSM certified professional team member. Prior to joining our hospital, she earned her AAS in Applied Science and her AAS in Veterinary Technology from Genesee Community College in 2016. Brittany enjoys educating clients & being part of such a great team. At home, Brittany has 7 cats- Mowgli, Laya, Monty, Scrap, Willow, Smokey & Jynx. In her free time, she likes gardening, hiking, listening to music, and shopping.

Veterinary Technician
Heather has been a part of the Westside Animal Hospital team since September 2017, and is a Fear Free certified team member. As a veterinary technician, she is responsible for prepping surgery, lab work, performing dental cleanings, treating patients, client education, and client communication. Heather's favorite part of the job is doing lab work and educating clients. Before joining the hospital, she earned her Associates degree in Veterinary Technology from Genesee Community College in 2017. At home, Heather has two Pemboke Welsh Corgis and one cat. outside of work, she enjoys kayaking, hiking, spending time with family, and going to concerts.

Veterinary Technician
Jessica joined our team in 2020. She graduated with her AAS in Veterinary Technology from SUNY Delhi. Since completing her degree, she has worked for 19 years as a veterinary technician with a specialized interest in veterinary dentistry. When she is not at Westside Animal hospital, she enjoys spending time with her two children and her two furry family members.

Practice Manager
In addition to providing Westside Animal Hospital with her management skills and talents, Robin is continually finding new technology to keep our veterinary hospital on the cutting edge in order to improve our client care Robin graduated with a bachelor of science degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 1981. She is a member of the Veterinary Hospital Managers Association and is a Fear Free certified professional. When she is not at Westside Animal Hospital, you can find Robin spending time with her grandchildren or doing Zumba. She has two dogs: a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Quincy and a Mi-Ki named Daisy.

Animal Care Assistant
Roberta joined the Westside Animal Hospital team in October of 2020. She has been in the veterinary field since 2008 as a surgery ACA. Since joining Westside Animal Hospital, she is responsible for the sterilization of all surgical equipment, holding and reassuring patients during their exams, being a “pet whisperer,” along with other tasks. She shares her home with her husband, daughter, and 4 cats, Truffles, Mater, Puck, and Bru (short for Creme Brulee). In her free time, she enjoys camping, gardening, reading, going on cruises, and spending time with her family.

Animal Care Assistant
Megan has 19 years of experience as an ACA in veterinary/emergency medicine. Megan loves providing the best patient care. At Home she is a very busy mom of four children along with two dogs and three cats.
Barin
SuPURRvisor
Barin, our Senior SuPURRvisor, takes his job very seriously. He is in charge of being cute, is an emotional support cat, and is a stress reducer. He is required to lower the blood pressure of staff by being cuddled. His other duties include chair warmer, and gravity analyst.
